If you (or your dog) manages to break your AguaFido, or you if accidentally leave it at a trailhead, just pay shipping and handling and we'll replace it.

That's our promise.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • There's no catch.

    As a backer, you're automatically registered. If your AguaFido gets lost or broken, shoot us an email, pay $9 shipping and handling, and we'll send a replacement. Up to two replacements per customer.

    Dog people are good people. We'll trust you not to take advantage of it.

  • Kickstarter launches on March 31 2026. Expected delivery: Summer 2026.

    We've already built the molds and our manufacturer is dialed in. They're ready to start production as soon as the campaign is funded.

  • Shipping isn't included in the total and will be collected separately after the campaign ends. This is pretty standard for Kickstarter campaigns these days. 

    We're still finalizing shipping costs but will have that info ready before we go live.

    For our Kickstarter launch, we will be shipping within the US.

    International friends, we see you. We plan to expand internationally once we launch our own store.

The Backstory

I came up with the idea for AguaFido on a hike back in 2011.

My buddy and I were halfway up the mountain when he poured half his water into a silicone bowl. His dog Cayenne was panting pretty hard. She took two sips and wandered off.

He dumped the rest and stuffed the wet, floppy bowl back into his pack.

We were both carrying Nalgenes. The idea of a bowl with a lid seemed obvious. I figured someone else would build it, but no one did.

I live in Durango, Colorado, which is basically dog mecca. Dogs at every friend's house, on every trail, and at every campsite.

I've spent a decade watching people try to give their dogs water in all kinds of goofy ways- cupped hands, leaky bottles, and fabric bowls that collapse as soon as the dog gets excited.

Eventually, I stopped waiting and started building.

43 prototypes later, AguaFido is ready to launch.
